Gestalt

Gestalt Psychotherapy enables you to process challenging events or feelings that are holding you back from living a happier and more fulfilling life. The word Gestalt means Whole, and Gestalt therapy focuses on developing your awareness of yourself as a whole, including any helpful as well as any unhelpful habits or patterns you have developed over the course of your life.

As your therapist, I would be an active companion and offer my own observations and awareness in service of your awareness in the present moment. Together, we might explore how your way of being with me is informed by the ways you have learned to cope with adversity. Some of the ‘creative adjustments’ you have made to survive are essential and life enhancing. However,  some may no longer serve you well and be limiting your capacity to live a satisfying adult life. Where this is the case we will work together to leave these behind.
